Phoenix-OoC Showcased at the 17th IBEC Symposium – Bioengineering Day in Barcelona
On October 21-22, 2024, the 17th IBEC Annual Symposium – Bioengineering Day took place in Barcelona, bringing together leading international experts and researchers for an open forum of interdisciplinary discussions and networking. The symposium, organized by the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), focused on Bioengineering for Emergent and Advanced Therapies, one of IBEC’s three major application areas.
This prestigious event provided a platform for scientists and researchers from IBEC and international institutions to present their research and projects. Attendees had the opportunity to showcase their work through poster presentations, with select contributions chosen for oral flash presentations by the scientific committee.

The latest advancements and technologies of the SwissMAM research group, particularly within the Biofabrication and Biosensor Unit, were introduced to over 200 participants from IBEC and international attendees. The presentation highlighted the innovative aspects of the Phoenix-OoC system, emphasizing its potential in the field of Organ-on-a-Chip (OoC) technology and its application in bioengineering for advanced therapies.
