Brazilian Society of Electrochemistry and Electroanalytics (SBEE) Webinar Series
On April 22, 2025, Prof. Fabiana Arduini from the University of Tor Vergata (Rome, Italy) was invited as a featured speaker in the prestigious II Webinar Series organized by the Brazilian Society of Electrochemistry and Electroanalytics (SBEE). This international event brings together experts and young researchers to explore the latest advancements in electrochemical science.
During her presentation titled “Paper-based electrochemical biosensors as smart and sustainable electrochemical analytical tools”, Prof. Arduini shared groundbreaking research from her group, showcasing how paper-based (bio)sensors are emerging as powerful, low-cost, and eco-friendly solutions in analytical chemistry.
The talk focused on:
- The development of portable and environmentally sustainable sensors
- Innovative fabrication methods using screen-printing and wax-printing
- Integration of green materials
- Applications in biomedical and environmental monitoring
- The potential use of these tools in organ-on-a-chip platforms
Prof. Arduini emphasized the relevance of these technologies in resource-limited settings, where accessible and decentralized diagnostic solutions can have a profound societal impact.
