Short Course on Paper-Based Electrochemical (Bio)Sensors at APA 2025, Ankara
As part of the 7th International Symposium on Advances in Pharmaceutical Analysis (APA 2025) held in Ankara, Turkey from August 24 to 27, 2025, a Short Course titled “How to design and fabricate paper-based electrochemical (bio)sensors” was offered to participants on August 24th.
The course was jointly delivered by Prof. Fabiana Arduini (University of Rome Tor Vergata, PHOENIX project coordinator), Prof. Gustavo Rivas, and Prof. Erhan Zor, providing attendees with hands-on insights into the design principles, fabrication techniques, and applications of paper-based electrochemical biosensors.
Prof. Arduini’s session focused on the sustainability, affordability, and biomedical applications of these devices, emphasizing their potential for pharmaceutical analysis and point-of-care diagnostics. These portable and eco-friendly platforms demonstrate how innovative analytical chemistry can support decentralized, patient-centered healthcare while promoting environmental responsibility.
