PHOENIX-OoC Coordinator Fabiana Arduini Delivers Plenary Lecture at BIOSENSOR 2026
From 2 to 4 September 2026, the 7th International Congress on Biosensors (BIOSENSOR 2026) was held at Ordu University in Ordu, Türkiye, bringing together researchers and experts from the international biosensor community to discuss recent advances in biosensing technologies and their applications.
PHOENIX-OoC Coordinator Prof. Fabiana Arduini participated in the congress as a Plenary Speaker, delivering a lecture entitled “Paper-Based Electrochemical Biosensors for Smart and Sustainable Sensing”.
During her plenary lecture, Prof. Arduini presented recent developments in paper-based electrochemical (bio)sensors for smart and sustainable biomedical applications. She highlighted the advantages of paper as a versatile platform for electrochemical sensing, including its low cost, flexibility, capillary-driven fluid transport, and potential for the fabrication of sustainable and user-friendly analytical devices.
The presentation demonstrated how the integration of paper-based platforms with electrochemical sensing strategies can support the development of portable and integrated devices for the detection and monitoring of clinically relevant biomarkers, contributing to the transition from conventional laboratory-based analysis towards point-of-care diagnostics and personalised medicine.
The lecture also provided an opportunity to present the scientific progress achieved within the PHOENIX-OoC project. Prof. Arduini highlighted the role of paper-based electrochemical sensing technologies in the development of the project’s innovative paper-based Organ-on-Chip platform for multiparametric monitoring of clinically relevant biomarkers.
Participation in BIOSENSOR 2026 further strengthened the visibility of PHOENIX-OoC within the international biosensor community and created valuable opportunities for scientific exchange and future collaborations.
